You’ll study the most popular historical periods and themes. However, there will be a greater emphasis on more internationally significant periods and themes, such as the inclusion of ‘India 1857–1947’ and ‘The world in crisis 1879–1945’. Unit 4 takes an international relations approach, interpreting divisive periods of international history.

What I should consider before enrolling

A level History builds directly on the subject knowledge studied at IGCSE/GCSE (or equivalent).  We recommend our students have a grade B or 6 at IGCSE/GCSE to cope with the subject content. All students undertaking A levels must also have IGCSE in English Language at Grade C or 4 (or equivalent qualification).

Course options depend on student´s timetable. All units are externally assessed with essay-based examinations. Each paper has four questions. Students must answer two 25-mark essay questions from a choice of four.
